Continental Fire Sprinkler Comes To The DIY Network!

DIY Network

Continental Fire Sprinkler was approached with a very unique and exciting opportunity to team up with the DIY Network and one of their current series called ‘Disaster House.’ Needless to say, when the opportunity was presented, we jumped at it.

The premise of the show is simple; find an abandoned house slated for demolition, set up shop in it and hit it with every disaster you can think of. After filming the destruction, they walk through step-by-step how to repair the damages. In our episode, a fire was set in the house by stacking rags soaked with gasoline together. Once the garage door had fallen in and the fire was put out, they walked through the basics of how to build your home to be more fire resistive. The main focus was then turned to the option of installing an NFPA 13D residential sprinkler system.

We spent a full day filming in August with the crew and Continental will be featured heavily in the episode. We had a large Q&A session with the Host, Josh Temple, where we were able to explain the details and benefits of installing sprinkler systems. We then turned to the installation and the camera crews did all they could to keep up with Tim Griffin and Jimmy Hinshaw on the installation. Now, if we can somehow figure out how to get them to work that fast off camera…. (joke).

The episode will conclude in typical Disaster House fashion, but you’ll have to watch and see. Most importantly, this opportunity allows for much needed exposure on the benefit to residential fire sprinkler systems. The season debuts on Halloween, so be looking for Continental on the small screen this Fall!
