Fire Sprinkler

Continental Fire Sprinkler Company can provide inspections based on a quarterly, semi-annual, annual, 3-year, 5-year, 10-year basis, depending on system requirements and those set by Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

  • Inspecting under the guidelines set forth by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 25 Standards for the inspection, testing and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems. NFPA 25 is the codebook with guidelines that insurance companies and local authorities follow. Coverage varies based on the system and type of inspection.
  • Testing the main drain and tag each riser with results and alarm times including static and residual water pressure.
  • Inspecting, testing and recording antifreeze system results to determine freeze point.
  • Trip testing dry pipe valves as well as testing quick opening devices and drain low points (if applicable).
  • Inspecting all visual sprinkler heads for proper temperature ratings, damage, corrosion or obstructions.
  • Inspecting fire department connections to ensure they meet requirements with local fire departments.
  • Testing supervisory, local and electric alarms for proper operation.
  • Private hydrant testing by opening and allowing the flow of water at least one minute, if required by owner.
  • Filing applicable reports with state agencies and local municipalities.
  • Furnishing a detailed report that outlines the inspection results and any deficiencies.
  • Arranging a licensed sprinkler fitter to work on the system and correct any deficiencies.
  • Tagging devices.
  • Database tracking including inspection history with dates, billings, time, past deficiencies and past technical assistance.
